While she may have been evicted from the Big Brother house and into the jury house, BB16 houseguest Jocasta Odom will certainly have a lot of opportunities waiting for her once the show ends and one of them involves a living legend in the musical world. The bow tie wearing minister and Breaking News Journal producer has been invited to be a VIP guest at the AFamily RAYunion concert happening at the Red Clay Theatre in Duluth, GA on October 3rd to honor the late great Ray Charles. Before the VIP concert, there will be a festival at the Duluth Festival Center’s Town Green where fans and family members to remember Charles. The festival portion will feature music from local artists, food trucks, family activities, and they’ll also show the movie Ray as well. After the VIP concert there will also be a special after party held at the Grand Atrium in Atlanta. There you will definitely be able to meet the family of Charles and meet the stars.
There’s not anyone who hasn’t heard of Charles or listened to his music. The man was pretty much an icon in the realm of soul music as well as jazz and R&B. Yes, he is ranked up there as one of the best of his genre and his music still plays today despite his passing in 2004. Besides Odom, also making an appearance at the event will be Sheila Raye Charles (yes, Ray’s daughter) as well as Uros Paric, Vaughan Anthony, Ray Charles’ other children, Ruth Bryant White & Steve White (Breaking News Journal), as well as many other celebrity guests. Hosting the event will be Ray Charles’ son Ray Charles Jr and India Hines.
Yes, there will be so many celebrities at this event, it’s hard to name them all. One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be quite an event given the fact that Charles was one of the biggest names in music. Even after his death his music has touched almost every generation that could be thought of. His songs Georgia On My Mind, In The Heat Of The Night, Hit The Road Jack, Night Time is the Right Time, Hard Times, What’d I Say, and many other hits. You can expect many of the songs to be performed at the event. Also, Charles’ children will also speak about their father’s music and the legacy he left behind.
Odom will also walk the red carpet and participate in other parts of the event. After all, she’s a Georgia girl and if you know your history, Charles was also born in the state. No doubt the Big Brother experience was something to remember for Jocasta but she’s going to be having many more as well. This concert is just the beginning of the many events we’ll see her at. Jocasta has also gotten an offer to appear at a Fashion Week in Las Vegas in Nevada sponsored by the Stitch Factory, a fashion event next year at the New Climax Lounge in Denver, and she’ll also be producing her own shows for BNJ’s TV channel. Also, her bow ties also could be a big seller as well, and since she makes them by hand may be spending some time filling orders. No matter what happens Jocasta is pretty much on the road to success. And how can she lose when God is in her corner?
